MIRS: Beyond Rough Spaces

Where's Rorschach?

For the last decade Artistic Directors Randy Baker and Jenny McConnell Frederick have led the Rorschach Company in every imaginable kind of collaboration--from Zombies to Shakespeare to Samurai to Nazis.

...but for 12 months in 2009 & 2010 they seem to have disappeared. Radio Silence. So what happened to Rorschach?

Well, like any good rock band worth their street cred, Jenny and Randy and the rest of the Rorschach company have been working on their solo albums. Rorschach is already back in the studio working on a collaboration the likes of which you've never seen.

...in the meantime here's a little run down on Jenny's and Randy's aforementioned "solo projects":

Jenny McConnell Frederick has become a Producer for the Cultural Development Corporation where she she produces the enormous and vital new-play event, The Source Festival. The festival just ended and featured 18 new 10-minute plays, 3 new full length plays and 4 "artistic blind dates" where theatre artists team up with artists from other fields. Throughout the year she has also produced The Mead Theatre Lab Program, where she provides production support, theatre space and mentoring to performing artists and emerging companies who apply and are awarded a spot in Flashpoint's season.

When not working on his MFA in Creative Writing at Goddard College, Randy Baker has been directing Rorschach Alum Hunter Styles' play FREUD MEETS GIRL. You can still catch it through July 23 at the Capital Fringe Festival when Freud meets girl meets robot. No really, there's a robot. He has been spending his spare time writing like a madman and even had some educational institutions allow him to share his madness with the students.
